Geraldine Keehan

I am a Partner and Head of the Family and Child Law Department in Dublin. I am tri-qualified in the Republic of Ireland; England and Wales and Northern Ireland. My areas of expertise include international private family law; divorce; judicial separation; custody disputes; child abduction and relocation; surrogacy and adoption. I act for Guardians ad Litem, court appointed to children in State care. I advise on the application of international law; particularly in relation to the movement of children between jurisdictions. I act for Local Authorities in England and Wales on matters pertaining to Brussels II. I have advised Barnardos [the Children’s Charity] and the Office of the Ombudsman for Children in Ireland. I am a Committee member of the Law Society of Ireland’s Family and Child Law Committee which analyses and comments on existing and proposed legislation in the area of family and child law.
