Steve Benmor is a Certified Specialist in Family Law by the Law Society of Ontario. He graduated from the University of Toronto with a Bachelor of Science, then from the University of Windsor with a Bachelor of Laws and then from York University with a Master of Laws (Family Law). Steve was an Adjunct Professor of Family Law at Osgoode Hall Law School. He has demonstrated broad leadership in Family Law including serving as a Founding Director, Treasurer and Board Member of the Association of Family and Conciliation Courts’ Ontario Chapter, as Chair of the Board of Access for Parents and Children in Ontario, as Chair of the Ontario Bar Association’s Family Law Section, as Chair of Canada’s first Family Law Moot and as a Member of the Expert Advisory Group on Family Justice Improvements to Attorney General. He has been counsel of record in many novel matrimonial cases. He is frequently asked to chair and present at continuing legal education conferences and has regularly appeared in print media, radio and television as an expert in Family Law. Steve received the 2012 Distinguished Service Award from AFCC’s Ontario Chapter.
