Studied law at the Universities of Geneva and Zurich, receiving her licence in 1975. After 1975, worked as an auditor, and from 1976 as a legal secretary at the Zurich District Court. Took a break from the law to take care of her three young sons between 1979 and 1985. Lectured on Commercial Law at the School of Management and Law, Zurich University of Applied Sciences (ZHAW) in Winterthur from 1988 until 2011. Is the co-author of specialist educational texts for ZHAW In 2007 and 2008 was a lecturer in Family Law at the University of Zurich, and from 2008 until 2012 was a faculty member for the postgraduate “Certificate of Advanced Studies in Family Law”, which leads to the title “Fachanwalt SAV Familienrecht” (Specified Lawyer in Family Law of the Swiss Bar Association). Since early 1994 has worked as an independent lawyer, and since February 1999 as Partner in the law firm of Trachsel Bortolani in Zurich. At the end of 2002 completed her studies in Commercial Mediation at the University of St Gallen. Preferred field is (international) family, marital, marital property and inheritance law as well as non-marital civil partnerships.
