Richard Roane is Chair of his firm’s Family Law Practice Group and has practiced family law and domestic relations litigation for 25 years. “My work involves entire families.” He says “My goal is to find a resolution to the problems facing the families I am serving. It’s a less contentious approach”. Specialises in divorce, non-marital domestic relationships, collaborative practice, spousal support, child custody and support, complex business valuation and distribution matters, pre and post nuptial agreements, and Hague Convention wrongful removal and return cases. Is a frequent lecturer throughout the year for family law organisations including the State Bar of Michigan Family Law Section, Grand Rapids Bar Association Family Law Section, Institute for Continuing Legal Education, and the American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers. Is co-author of Michigan Family Law 7th edition ICLE (2010) and provided the Family Law Annual Update to the Michigan Judges’ Association in August 2012.
