Family law practice focuses on high-conflict divorce, custody and visitation proceedings, including international and interstate custody and/or divorce cases, complex marital property divisions, and child and spousal support matters. Represents parents who’ve brought children to the US and for legitimate reasons, do not want their children returned to their former country of residence. Also represent parents who live in different regions of the world whose children have been taken from their home country by the other parent and brought to the US without the left-behind parent’s knowledge and/or consent. Practices in the state and federal courts in Virginia and Washington, D.C., and in the federal courts of Maryland. Has published articles on family law topics, most recently on the need to identify the proper jurisdiction under the UCCJEA, in which to bring an initial child custody action.
