Specialises in Family Law and litigation in the High Court and Magistrate’s Court, including applications in terms of the Hague Convention on Abduction of Children. First Woman Vice – President, KwaZulu Natal Law Society and Chairperson, Law Society of South Africa. Acted as a Judge of the High Court in the Durban and Coast Local Division in December 2005. Chairperson – IBA World Women Lawyer’s Committee – Outstanding World Woman Lawyer Award – 2006. Appointed by the KZN Finance Department as Chairperson of the Municipal Bid Appeals Tribunal – uMZinyathi District, KZN. Chairperson of Family Law Committee, Law Society of South Africa since 2007. Member of the International Bar Association. Council member, Durban Chamber of Commerce and Industry KZN. Speaks at various conferences in South Africa, and internationally on issues relating to Family Law, Women and Children’s rights and empowerment. Involved in various charitable associations.
