Susan Butler is a Certified Mediator for Family Cases and cases before the Virginia Court of Appeals. Susan is an AAML Fellow and the Virginia Chapter CLE Chair. She is Collaboratively trained and completed advanced mediation training and negotiation training in conjunction with AAML and the Harvard Project on Negotiation. Susan is Chair of the Virginia State Bar Board of Governors Family Law Section. She is a past faculty member of the VSB Professionalism Course and is Co-Chair of the VSB Professionalism for Law Students Course. She was a member of the VSB Standing Committee regarding Unauthorized Practice of Law and Study Committee for Revision of the UPL Rules. She is listed in Best Lawyers in America for Family Law and Mediation and as a top lawyer in Washingtonian and Northern Virginia Magazines. Virginia Lawyers Weekly named her as one of its inaugural class of “influential Women of Law”.
