Has practiced family law in Vancouver, British Columbia since 1982 and has had his own family law practice in Vancouver since 1984. Has handled all kinds of family law cases, including custody disputes and disputes concerning support and asset division, at all levels of court in British Columbia. A trained mediator, collaborative lawyer and parenting coordinator and encourages settlement of family disputes by agreement wherever possible. Has a particular interest in child custody and has successfully handled many difficult child custody cases. Has also acted as a child advocate, representing children in high conflict custody cases. Has developed an unique expertise in international child custody cases and in particular cases involving cross-border parental child abduction. Has assisted many parents whose children have been kidnapped by the other parent and taken to other counties to recover their children.
