Information:

The children, a girl and a boy, were aged 6 and 4 2/3 respectively at the date of the alleged wrongful removal. They had lived in Greece all of their lives. The parents were married and had joint rights of custody. On 18 November 1993 the mother took the children to England, her State of origin.
On 19 November 1993 the mother obtained from the Canterbury County Court ex parte orders for interim residence and a prohibition against the father removing the children. On 24 November 1993 the father applied for a return under the Hague Convention and volunteered undertakings not to seek to remove the children from the mother’s care and control and to provide housing and financial support.
